I was not impressed here with the story lines or most of the crappy matches that went on. The lack of enthusiasm from the announcers is understandable, and while it's not horrible, the main event ladder match is not main event material.
Chris Beniot Vs Mike Enos. Really mediocre filler here, that not even Beniot can save. Enos was average at best, and the match didn't flow very well. Beniot wins with the Crossface.
1 1/2 /5
Norman Smiley Vs Chavo Guerrero Jr. Better than most of the card here, but that's not really saying much. It wasn't too bad, but could have been better as well, with too much comedy in it. Norman wins
2 1/2 /5
Fit Finlay Vs Van Hammer. Sluggish and uneventful to say the least, with Finlay rightly picking up the victory.
1/5
Bam Bam Bigelow Vs Wrath. Boring and plodding stuff here, and it just seemed like they were going through the motions, much like the announcers themselves during this match, trying to come up with stuff to say. Bigelow wins
1/5
Lex Luger Vs Konnan. Much of the match consists of Konnan putting a beating on Luger, which got old, but quick. Luger wins with The Torture Rack.
1/5
Loser Wears A Dress Match.
Chris Jericho Vs Perry Saturn. Best match of the night, very solid stuff actually. It got even better near the end, but the usual over booking at the end takes it down a notch. Jericho wins due to a ref screw job.
3/5
Fatal Four-Way match
WCW Cruiserweight Championship
Billy Kidman Vs Rey Misterio Jr. Vs Juventud Guerrera Vs Psicosis. Not bad, but a little too spotty at times for my liking. Kidman had some nice spots though. Kidman retains, while Kidman and Rey do the baby face show of respect afterwords.
2 1/2 /5
The Flair's Vs Barry Windham and Curt Henning. Better than average, but not as good as it could have been either. The post-match beat down from the NWO is indeed intense though, and one of the rare times WCW did quality booking.
2 1/2 /5
Stun-Gun Ladder Match.
Goldberg Vs Scott Hall. Not as bad as I feared, but nothing good either. Too much focus on Goldberg's leg to be fully effective, and the spots were not that great. Goldberg wins, avoiding a screw job.
2/5
Bottom line. Pretty horrible stuff here, but this was typical from WCW at the time. The story lines were horrid and the older guys didn't wanna accept their time had come and gone. Not recommended
