Regency, CritterPix draw CGI 'Otter'

Regency Enterprises is embarking on its first CGI-animated feature, partnering with animation studio CritterPix to develop a feature based on the children's best seller Ollie the Otter, by Kelly Alan Williamson. Regency will spearhead creative development and has the option of investing in CritterPix and to co-finance the film's production. "We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with CritterPix," Regency president David Matalon said. "CritterPix is a fresh animation voice that is fortified with talented storytelling veterans. The creative collaboration between our two companies will bring all of these lovable 'Ollie the Otter' characters to audiences around the world." New Regency has produced more than 70 films, including JFK, the Free Willy franchise, L.A. Confidential, Big Momma's House, Unfaithful, Daredevil and Man on Fire. »

Hollywood stars Diane Lane and actor Josh Brolin have married at a secret ceremony on the west coast of America. The Oscar nominated Unfaithful actress, 39, and her 36-year-old Hollow Man star beau exchanged marital vows at an undisclosed location over the weekend. The marriage marked the second trip to the altar for both screen stars, who live in Los Angeles. Lane has a daughter by her first spouse, actor Christopher Lambert, while Brolin has a son and daughter by his previous marriage to Alice Adair. The couple first met at a premiere for 2001 film A Beautiful Mind, only a few months after Brolin called off his high-profile engagement to Minnie Driver. »

Lane responds to 'Dogs' call

Diane Lane is set to star in Must Love Dogs, a romantic comedy that Gary David Goldberg wrote and will direct for Warner Bros. Pictures. Goldberg also is producing through his UBU Prods. banner. Based on Claire Cook's 2002 book, Dogs is about a 40-ish preschool teacher who seeks to remedy her single status with a personal ad. Warners exec Polly Cohen oversees, while Grant Rosenberg is the executive producer. The project is scheduled to shoot in Los Angeles in the fall. Naomi Shohan (American Beauty) has signed on to production design. A veteran television writer-producer, Goldberg created Family Ties and co-created Spin City. Lane starred in last year's Under the Tuscan Sun and received a best actress Oscar nomination for her work in Unfaithful. She recently wrapped Fierce People for Lions Gate. Lane is repped by Endeavor and manager Joan Hyler. »

Regency Enterprises has promoted veteran physical production executive Tommy Imperato to executive vp and head of physical production. At Regency, Imperato has overseen physical production on such films as Don't Say a Word, Runaway Jury, Daredevil, Unfaithful and Man on Fire. Imperato began his career as a studio production executive in 1997 at 20th Century Fox, where he was vp physical production. Upcoming Regency productions that he has worked on include Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Elektra. »

And eagle-eyed onlookers observed the happy couple leaving a pharmacy in the Unfaithful actor's native Paris, France with a small package, which insiders claim was the all-important testing kit. Minogue and Martinez have been inseparable since meeting at the Grammys in 2003. »

And Olivier would never date a model anyway - because they are not clever enough for him. He explains, "You don't need to be 18 to be beautiful. At 18, most of the time, you are stupid.
