Goofs

Audio/visual unsynchronised

In the beginning of the movie they show Charlie going to the bathroom and although you hear a stream there is none to be seen.

Boom mic visible

The boom mic is clearly visible in several scenes.

Character error

In the children's play, the kids are doing sign language. Charlie's part is, "What's the sense in walking if you don't walk tall?" and he signs, "What's the sense in walking if you 'boy' walk tall."

Continuity

When Connie first goes to bed with Edward, while he's testing his camcorder there is several boxes on the bed. A minute later they are all gone but it seems like neither Connie nor Edward has moved them.
It is clearly shown how windy it is, as Edward prepares to leave for work. As Connie looks out the window to watch Edward leave, it is a calm day, with no wind. Next shot, it is windy again.
When Connie is having coffee at Café Noir with Tracy and Sally she heads to the back of the café (the washroom) without her purse. As she returns her purse is in hand.
When Connie first goes up to Paul's apartment during the wind storm, her hair changes from very messy to almost neat and back again.
When Charlie is about to go to school and Connie sees him chewing something. She asks him to spit it out on her palm. He leaves for school. In between shots, the thing on her palm disappears and she is later seen chewing something without been shown what she did with the thing on her palm.
When Edward, Connie and Charlie are having the burned chicken dinner, the level of milk in Charlie's glass changes, yet since Charlie was talking he could not have drank any.
When Connie first goes to bed with Edward, while he's testing his camcorder, the straps of her chemise jump on and off her shoulder between shots.
As Constance is driving to the city in the rain, the license plate number on the front of the SUV is different than the number on the rear plate. Later in the film, though, the front plate number has changed to match the rear.

Connie is in front of the fireplace burning pictures. She has one burning picture in each hand when Edward walks in. In the next shot of Connie (a close-up), she raises her empty right hand to her face. As we pull back, the pictures and envelope are no longer in front of her.

When shot from the outside, Paul's apartment has windows that are mullioned into four sections (two above the sash, two below). When shot from the inside, however, the windows are mullioned into six sections (three above the sash, three below).

Near the end of movie, when Connie and Edward are talking in the car at a red light, Connie turns back to look at Charlie and the red light turns green behind her, and they don't continue to drive. When the camera focuses on the stop light again while they're kissing, it is back to red and changes to green.

At the beginning of the movie, when Constance is sitting on the steps in front of Paul's building, Paul grabs his books to go to his apartment (telling her he will give her a band-aid). At this moment, the order of the books he is holding isn't the same when he is on the streets and when he's in front of the door (he just went up 3 steps).

When Edward awakes the next morning after disposing of the body, the Tropicana orange juice box turns around between shots.
The plug of the marker in Paul's mouth when he's drawing in Connie's pelvis.

Errors in geography

Edward's detective friend tells Edward that Paul lives at "433 Mercer Street, apartment 3." However, in the scene in which Paul and Connie meet, the address of the building directly across from Paul's apartment clearly reads, "69 Mercer Street," so Paul's building cannot be 433 Mercer (this address does not exist). In fact, the address of the exterior location for Paul's apartment is 70 Mercer Street.

Factual errors

Paul reads Connie one of the Braille lines in 'Joy Of Cooking' as "My mother makes me chicken. Her chicken makes me cough. I wish that when she made it, she took the feathers off." There is no such line in the actual cookbook.

Revealing mistakes

When Connie and Paul fall down together on the windy day they meet the "sidewalk" (crash mat) is being blown about by the wind.
When Edward is getting into the tub with Connie, his boxers are just barely visible as he lowers himself into the water.
When Connie and her son look out of the upstairs window and see the police getting out of their car they are already in the house looking around when she comes downstairs. How did they get in?
