The movie begins with an auction sale. Some people are raising the bidding for a horrible big music box ,topped by a crowing cock .A man wants to give it to his mom and a lady wants it too. In a gentlemanly fashion ,the man bows to the woman's charm.
After this funny scene, this Roger Richebé's comedy is mildly entertaining.Of course the man falls in love with the lady, but so do his two half-brothers .They all meet up in the mother's mansion where the lady from the sale is a guest (with the music box which she gave to her host).so begins the fight.Who will win Hughette's heart?Charles is a sportsman,he takes her for a drive in his sports car;Marcel is a banker,he helps her make money;Pierre is a musician with a tender heart and he tries to seduce her in a romantic way.
Quite surprising ending,in an Oedipean way.
