This was supposed to be Preity Zinta's first film but for some reason it got delayed.

Strong Performances, Weak Execution of Story

After watching Preity shine in Dil Se..., I decided to watch this movie. Looking at Preity's career, she has come a long way. Her career started off with Dil Se, where she showed good promise. However Solider did nothing for her. Two years later she starred in this movie. As years go by, this movie is being forgotten that this movie is what made Preity a huge star. Each star had at least one movie where they are THE sat of the movie. This movie is Preity's all the way. The semi controversial topic was about a teenager who becomes pregnant. I won't reveal the rest of the story. However the story is terribly executed. First off, Preity's character was supposed to look younger in appearance. So they give a her a eight year old wardrobe and a weird voice to make her seem younger. Luckily Preity's character "matures" in the second half, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to prove herself. Then comes Preity falling for Saif. Everyone warns her, even her most "trustworthy" brother, and judging by her character, she wouldn't have. Pretty stupid!!! Saif Ali Khan plays her flirting boyfriend. First off, he did the best thing cutting his hair. He attempts negativity and somehow succeeds. But he doesn't get enough scope to call this memorable. Chandrachur Singh plays the ultimate friend decently, and he performs with confidence. The supporting cast was very well cast, but one doesn't get the full satisfaction feeling after watching these dramatic characters. The songs were quite good, but don't change brighten or darken the mood. The title songs is quite touching and plays a good part in the movie. The climax song Oh Soniye Dil Janiye was another good song, but it should have been shortened. My favorite song was the innocent Dekhiye Aji Jaaneman which is ruined by its picturization. The Jaaneman Jaane Jaan is nicely danced, but Saif needed a wardrobe change. The rest of the songs don't add a spark in the movie and are quite boring songs. The movie is worth a watch for fans of Preity and maybe Saif and Chandrachur.
