This was a made for Fox Family network series that featured old footage of animals, birds and insects culled from Vin DiBona's old "Amazing Animals" series, hosted by Alan Thicke back in the 1980's.
New writers were brought in to freshen up the material and Seinfeld's John O'Hurley served as host for new wrap arounds. The show had a subtle, sly sense of humor, identifying any animal handler seen in the old footage as Hurley's faithful assistant, Uloo.
Even with tongue in cheek, this series provided interesting information and for the recycling it was, was not bad. Of course, anything that got rid of Alan Thicke ("Thicke of the Night") was a good thing.
