In Canada, the Ontario Film Review Board originally banned the film because it was too pornographic. The film was re-submitted under a pornographic license, and banned because it was too violent. By then it had been selected for the Toronto Film Festival, and was approved in British Columbia and Qu├ębec. On March 8, 2001, the Ontario Film Review Board approved the film, with an R rating.
Banned in Australia. It was initially released to a select audience, but the federal government used police to shut down the screenings.
The stars and a director are adult film stars.
The film playing during the sex scene is Gaspar Noe's "I Stand Alone"
