Very few complete editions survive of this series. However, many individual news reports from the series survive.
The series' opening depicted a graphic of the Alexandra Palace's transmission mast. The Palace served as the main facility of BBC Television from 1936 to 1956.
This series was the first regular television news program of the United Kingdom.
The music theme of the series was performed by the Queen's Hall Light Orchestra.
Before the creation of this series, BBC Television's news coverage consisted of screening cinema newsreels from British Movietone News, and rebroadcasting radio news bulletins from BBC Radio.
