Although this was an original story by Dr. Seuss, he included two gags taken from certain books. The "bedroom...here...bathroom...here" gag is from Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? (1973) and the battle of Tweedle beetles in a bottle on a poodle eating noodles is from Fox in Socks (1965).

Mr. Hoober-Bloob (voiced by Bob Holt), was originally Solla Sollew's former doorman in one of Dr. Seuss' books, I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew.
