This conception is too unpleasant in certain respects to make the best entertainment. The jealous husband, whose suspicions were not without justification, uses a branding iron on his wife's bosom. Their son is born with a birthmark of the same description on his body. The story is gripping and well acted, but contains too much brutality for the average observer. - The Moving Picture World, September 27, 1913
