A charred body is found in a car, leading the team into a web of police corruption and cover-ups. Written by Anonymous
A charred body is dragged from the Clyde and identified as D.C.I Blair MacDonald. Suspicion immediately falls on James Dillon who has just been released from prison after serving a life sentence for murder. Dillon swore revenge on MacDonald for putting him away.
The investigating team soon discover that Patricia Dillon, a solicitor, is seeking a retrial to prove her father's innocence. However, she appears to be hiding the fugitive as officers from two stations seek to apprehend him.
This episode has the usual number of murders to hamper the investigation and keep the viewer guessing. Along the way Det. Sgt. Jackie Reid discovers D.C.I. Blair MacDonald is not the innocent victim he appears to be. Internal Affairs have been doing their own inquiry into his alleged corruption.
Ken Drury, playing Chief Supt. Andrew Lennox, makes another appearance on Taggart playing yet another character. The final scene is well written and I was genuinely pleased. This is a reasonably good episode of Taggart. However, it is starting to look tired.
