This movie was originally called "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi," but director David Dhawan wanted it changed to sound more like a Yashraj film which released this movie. They also wanted a reference to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), whence the story was loosely taken.

Insane, Crazy, Fun to Watch

I have noticed many people have been criticizing this movie. I personally found it fun to watch. The movie is based on spoofs of romantic and comedy movies. For example the plot is a mix of DDLJ along with a few other movie. The first thing that caught my eye was the title (hence DDLJ). I then saw it starred Karisma Kapoor and Salman Khan after a super successful Biwi No. 1. One of the best thing I found about this movie was that the two stars share lots of chemistry. Salman Khan is continuing his PKTDK and does an even better job. Karisma Kapoor looks beautiful in every scene. She does go over the top, but with her beauty, I could care less. Anupam Kher was hilarious as the retro uncle. He was the best. Paresh Rawal and Om Puri were also as good. Johnny Lever wasn't as funny as in KKHH, but he isn't annoying ether. Its very rare when you could give credit to every actor in the cast. My favorite in the movie were the catchy songs. I can't choose a single song as the best song, but they all will be remembered as the Himesh Reshammiya's first good full soundtrack. The title song was left to the credits. Dheere Dheere was the mandatory boy chases girl song and was fun to watch. O Mr. Raja was the mandatory girl chases boy at a drunken stage song that was fun to watch. But those are the mediocre songs of the soundtrack. Chhamiya was a nice number but was lacking choreography. Actually the only number with good choreography was Tera Pallu Sarka Jaaye Re which was a quite cheap yet catchy song. Then there was beach song Pyaar Dilon Ka Mela Hai which gets the viewer caught with Karisma's looks. Mukhse Shaadi Karogi was the best dance number in viewing. The only slow song Hai Na Bolo was nice, and perfect for the mood in the movie. Otherwise this film was good and must see.
