First Look at X-23 in Wolverine 3?

10 June 2016 3:21 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

A few months ago, before production started in New Orleans on Wolverine 3, a casting call was sent out that many fans thought was for the popular mutant X-23. That casting call was seeking Caucasian, Hispanic and Asian women over the age of 21, who are between 4'0-4'11 in height, size 0-4, with dark brown hair for stand-in roles. We never got any confirmation if this character was cast yet, but today we have new photos from the set which may just have our first look at X-23 in this R-rated movie.

These photos, which surfaced on Twitter earlier today, don't reveal too much, but this unidentified young actress is seen walking with Hugh Jackman. One thing is clear, though, either this character isn't X-23, or the earlier casting call was for a different character, because this girl is most certainly not over the age of 21. The ongoing mutant melee dates all the way back to 1993, when Apocalypse was introduced in the first season of Fox Kids’ X-Men: The Animated Series. Though he remained a disturbing presence throughout the series’ five-season run, it wasn’t until Season 4 (1995) that he put his most diabolical plan into action.

Wolverine 3 Brings in Two Unexpected Actors

28 April 2016 1:23 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

With production scheduled to begin next month, the cast of 20th Century Fox's Wolverine 3 is growing larger and larger. Today we have word that British actors Stephen Merchant and Richard E. Grant have joined the sequel, alongside Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Boyd Holbrook, who is playing the main villain. No details were given for Stephen Merchant's character, but Richard E. Grant is said to be playing a villainous mad scientist.

Deadline reports that more actors are in various stages of negotiations for the superhero adventure, although no specific names were mentioned, or what characters they may be playing. Wolverine 3 will be Hugh Jackman's final performance as Logan, bringing a 17-year run as the beloved mutant to an end, spanning nine movies. It isn't known if Stephen Merchant and Richard E. Grant's characters are based in the Marvel Comics, or if they were created specifically for this movie. »

Wolverine 3 to Bring in Fan Favorite Mutant X-23?

20 April 2016 9:00 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier this month, we reported that Narcos star Boyd Holbrook has signed on to play the main villain in 20th Century Fox's highly-anticipated Wolverine 3, alongside Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. A report from February revealed that filming will begin sometime this month in New Orleans, but it isn't known exactly when cameras will start rolling on this superhero adventure, which will mark Hugh Jackman's final performance as Wolverine. Today we have a new casting report that hints another mutant from the comics may be popping up in Wolverine 3, X-23.

Project Casting posted a casting notice yesterday for the third Wolverine movie, which is reportedly shooting under the working title Juarez. The production is seeking a very specific type of young woman to play body doubles and stand-ins for an unspecified character. The production is seeking Caucasian, Hispanic and Asian women over the age of 21, who are between 4'0-4'11 in height, »

Will Mutant X-23 Appear in ‘The Wolverine III’?

20 April 2016 12:34 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

We’ve known for some time now that The Wolverine III would mark Hugh Jackman’s last outing as the Adamantium-clawed mutant of the same name. It’s a role that brought the actor mainstream recognition, and one that helped to foster the popularization of comic book movies. As such, we know that this will be a big deal, as 20th Century Fox will be saying goodbye to a character that’s made them a heck of a lot of money.

However, it is entirely possible that the studio is laying the groundwork for the franchise’s future, if recent speculation is to be taken seriously.

Comicbook.com reported Tuesday that there’s been a casting call for the film. The casting call is for stand-ins that fit the following requirements: ”Caucasian, Hispanic and Asian looking females over the age of 21," as well as heights of 4’-4’11” with dark brown hair. »

With principal photography for The Wolverine 3 looming, more casting news and rumors regarding the film are starting to flood the internet. The latest tidbit, which emerged this week, should excite many die hard X-Men fans, as it suggests that a character never before seen on the silver screen will be joining Hugh Jackman for Logan’s swan song.

As with any rumor we should take it with a grain of salt, but I can say that I’ve been visiting Super Hero Hype for 11 years and have found them to be a very reliable website. Their report says they’ve learned that none other than X-23 will be joining the cast of the next installment of Fox’s blockbuster X-Men franchise. Beyond that, no other details have been given.

The character of X-23 debuted in the popular animated series X-Men: Evolution as the clone daughter of Wolverine. The first 22 attempts failed, »
