This pilot was picked up for series and was scheduled to premiere in September 2000. But the producers decided to retool the show and the premiere was pushed back to January 2001. But shortly before filming was to begin, Robert Schimmel was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma cancer and the production was postponed. Even after Schimmel recovered, Fox decided to cancel the show.
