AMC may have its hands full with such popular shows like “The Walking Dead,” “Better Call Saul,” and most recently, the comic-book smash “Preacher,” but there’s one show in its arsenal that stands as the underdog of the bunch. The series in question? “Halt and Catch Fire,” the ’80s period drama about the personal computer revolution in Silicon Prairie of Texas. The series stars Lee Pace (“Pushing Daisies”), Scoot McNairy (“Argo”), Mackenzie Davis (“The Martian”), Kerry Bishé (“Scrubs”), Toby Huss (“Carnivàle”), and Aleksa Palladino (“Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead”). For my money, there are few up and coming actresses in Hollywood more exciting to watch than Shailene Woodley. In a relatively short period of time, Woodley has managed to work her way up the A-list, becoming someone whose mere presence in a film is something to be excited about. She’s been snubbed for Academy Award attention at least three times now, for The Descendants, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Spectacular Now, though her time is coming soon enough, perhaps even this year for her supporting work in the biopic Snowden.
