Watch The First Teaser Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

14 December 2013 8:18 AM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

In what’s becoming one of the most anticipated movies of 2014, watch the teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughy, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway and Michael Caine.

Filled with footage of Chuck Yeager’s Bell X-1, the Mercury and Gemini space capsule missions, the Saturn V rocket liftoff to the Moon with the Apollo missions, and the Space Shuttle Atlantis, this superb first trailer really brings home the fact that at one time America’s Space Program was envied and unrivaled.  It’s chilling to think that we may never again see the likes of when we made frequent trips to the Moon. There was a time when we had the determination, ability and huge national pride of travelling to our nearest celestial neighbor.

Matthew McConaughey speaks the truth in his voice over – “We lost all that. Perhaps we’ve just forgotten. That we are still Pioneers »

Jordin Sparks Checks An Item Off Her Bucket List

20 November 2013 11:30 AM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

While working with the late, great Whitney Houston will always be one of Jordin Sparks' most cherished experiences, guest-starring on tonight's all-new episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has been on her bucket list for ages. Since before she auditioned for, and won, American Idol. So it should come as no surprise to hear the double-threat was positively beaming when ETonline caught up with her to talk about her CSI role.

In addition to finding out what to expect from tonight's episode, Check In and Check Out, we got the scoop on her next album and why it's taken almost five years to get back in the studio.

ETonline: Were you a CSI fan before getting cast?

Jordin Sparks: I have to start by saying that I'm such a huge fan of CSI; I loved Miami, I loved New York, I love Las Vegas. Before Idol, I owned all the box sets and would watch as »

'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's' Paul Guilfoyle: 'We look a little too adept at stuff'

20 November 2013 11:08 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Zap2it: Having passed the 300th episode, what do you think the biggest effect of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" has been?

Paul Guilfoyle: A lot of elements of this show have affected court cases. They call it "the 'CSI' effect," where everybody wants to see the CSI evidence; juries ask for it. There isn't the kind of time or energy to solve something the way it's solved on the show, and we've led the world to kind of believe we really can solve everything by waving magic wands over walls.

We look a little too adept at stuff that isn't the case in real life, but I do think how "the 'CSI' effect" has worked on society is great. And in a business sense, the show resurrected Channel 5 in England (through its global success), and things like that give people jobs. It's helped in lots of ways.

Jordin Sparks on getting bloody on 'CSI' and her acting future

20 November 2013 9:56 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Jordin Sparks has the acting bug. Bad. After finishing her first feature film, "Sparkle," co-starring the late Whitney Houston, the singer (the last female "American Idol" winner until Candice Glover, in fact) is focusing her energies on acting.

Sparks stars in tonight's (Nov. 20) episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," called "Check In Check Out," as a teacher involved in a murder investigation at a motel. For the self-proclaimed "CSI" superfan, it was an incredibly exciting job to get. Zap2it talked to her about the episode and her future acting plans.

Zap2it: So how did this whole thing come about?

Sparks: I was actually auditioning for a couple of other things and one of the people who was in that room when I auditioned does "CSI." I noticed a whole bunch of ["CSI" scripts on the table]. I started freaking out because I was so excited. I told her, "I'm such a huge fan of the show. »

HBO is developing a show with 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen according to Deadline. It’s described as “Six Degrees of Separation meets Shame” and hopes to get the pilot filmed before McQueen begins his next movie.

In unsurprising news, TV’s most-watched program The Walking Dead has been renewed for a fifth season.

More Glenn in season five!

American Horror Story: Murder House alum, Morris Chestnut has joined the cast of TNT’s spy pilot Legends.

Oh, how embarrassing. Maybe The View‘s producers should check if a guest’s reputation survived an appearance on The Daily Show before calling them an expert.

TVLine has the early pix of Rachel Maddow‘s Simpsons counterpart in this week’s episode as Kent Brockman‘s former co-host.

In further Simpsons news, TMZ says that while Mrs. Krabapple will be written off, it won’t happen anytime soon since the »

'Blue Bloods': 'Oz' alum Kirk Acevedo cast as cop Maria's criminal brother

24 October 2013 8:38 AM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

"Blue Bloods" is getting some new blood, from someone familiar to fans of "Oz" and "Fringe."

Now in its fourth season, the CBS police drama has cast Kirk Acevedo as the brother of Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) -- NYPD detective Danny Reagan's (Donnie Wahlberg) partner -- in the Friday, Nov. 22, episode, Zap2it has learned exclusively. His sudden reappearance is guaranteed to make things less than comfortable for his sister.

They have a strained relationship to begin with, since he's a longtime criminal. He's trying to leave that life behind, but a "wrong place, wrong time" situation keeps him there, likely putting an added strain on Maria's camaraderie with justice-devoted Danny as she struggles with professional duty vs. family loyalty.

The HBO prison drama "Oz" boosted Acevedo's fame through his portrayal of inmate Miguel Alvarez. He worked for the cable network again in the miniseries "Band of Brothers," then was »

'CSI': Ted Danson welcomes Marg Helgenberger back for show's 300th episode

23 October 2013 12:30 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

A 300th episode is a milestone extremely few series get to celebrate.

Maybe that doesn't seem as surprising for a drama that has spent much of its run heralded as "the most popular show in the world," but it's a major moment for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" nevertheless.

The globally successful Anthony E. Zuiker-created procedural -- which inspired much of what CBS' prime-time schedule has looked like for the past decade-plus -- marks the event Wednesday, Oct. 23, with a story that acknowledges "CSI" history in a number of ways. The plot revisits a cold case from the Las Vegas forensics team's early days, and founding co-star Marg Helgenberger (who will be back on CBS weekly this winter in "Intelligence") returns as Catherine Willows.

Paul Guilfoyle, alias Capt. Jim Brass, has been with "CSI" from the start. "It's kind of an abstract number," the actor reasons to Zap2it of reaching the 300th tale. »

'CSI': Ted Danson, John Ratzenberger stage a mini-'Cheers' reunion

9 October 2013 11:00 AM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Don't call Ted Danson and John Ratzenberger "Sam" and "Cliff" ... at least not this time.

The actors who co-starred for 11 seasons on the classic sitcom "Cheers" reunite Wednesday (Oct. 9) on Danson's current series, CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," in a story that echoes a real-life 2003 tragedy. Ratzenberger plays the owner of a nightclub where a fire takes four lives, prompting D.B. Russell (Danson) and his forensics team to investigate.

"First off, it was like, 'We haven't seen each other in a while. What's this going to be like?'" Danson tells Zap2it. "I was a bit nervous, but it was like falling off a log and getting back on. It was so sweet. We hung out in my trailer between shots and just reminisced and caught up with each other."

Danson adds he's greatly pleased with Ratzenberger's "CSI" work: "His performance? Wow! I got a little preview when I »
