First poster for Taken 3

29 September 2014 2:23 AM, PDT | Sky Movies | See recent Sky Movies news »

Sorry - "Tak3n" Here's the first poster for the third in the Taken series, which will apparently be given the linguistically nightmarish title of Tak3n. The film thus follows that inglourious tradition of films with numbers replacing letters, which include such greats as Ali3n, Scr3am, Scre4m, 2 Fast 2 Furious, S1m0ne, and, erm, Thir13en Ghosts. »

'Taken 3' is called 'Tak3n'...and Liam Neeson says it's the last 'Taken' ever

23 September 2014 4:47 PM, PDT | EW - Inside Movies | See recent EW.com - Inside Movies news »

USA Today just posted a long chat with Liam Neeson about the next entry in the Taken franchise, and the only thing you absolutely have to know right now is that the piece claims that the movie will be called Tak3n, in the grand number-as-letter title tradition of Se7en and Thir13en Ghosts and 5tar War5: Epi5ode V–The Empire Strike5 Back and Star Trek In2 Darkness and Step Up 2 The Streets, which is technically a full sentence because the 410 dance crew were symbolically “stepping up” to the competition.

It’s unclear if anyone will actually get taken in Tak3n. »

Poker Night: Dead Man’s Hand

8 March 2014 5:11 AM, PST | MoreHorror | See recent MoreHorror news »

The Horror, the Horror!

Why isn’t there a quality, poker-themed horror movie? The title, "Poker Night: Dead Man's Hand," is a bit campy, but so are many horror movies. Imagine eight college grads uniting on a remote island for a night of boozing and strip poker. The plot writes itself. One by one, the clothing layers are removed and one by one, the players get lured from the table and slaughtered in a most grizzly fashion.

At the end, there is only one person left, and she (it has to be a she) is forced to play our killer in a poker game to the death. All you can see is the killer’s eyes behind a Yoda mask (or any other mask that terrifies you), as he deals the cards on the blood-soaked table. The girl shivers, forced to face her fears while playing the most important game of her life. »

10 Horror Remakes That Are Better Than You Might Think

6 February 2014 9:00 AM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

To preface this article, I’d like to openly acknowledge the fact that there isn’t a single “great” film on this list. Furthermore, given the concept of this piece, it’s safe to say that you’re not going to read about any significantly original films either.

The whole remake thing kind of blew those hopes out of the water. That said, we’re going to eye 10 remakes/reboots/reimaginings that were forced through the meat grinder upon arrival, despite the fact that they didn’t entirely deserve such brutish treatment.

Believe it or not, there are a few remakes out there worth watching. The horror world would have you believe that not a single film on this list qualifies, but I’m here – battling valiantly – to prove the voices of many wrong. Dig in for a closer look at some remakes that, while not monumental, still offer some redeeming qualities. »
