Earnest, believable, well-cast TV-drama has police force rookie Busch falling in love with criminal Indian Varma, who tries to smuggle a bunch of Indian kids into Germany and begs him to help her, while he's trying to master his last days of training with his friends Bröcker and Klink under the lead of trainer Vogler. A respectful, multi-perspective script and compelling characters, very well-acted by the talented cast, make this appealing romance with a social conscience and a in-depth study of the Indian culture as well as the police mechanics worthwhile. Busch (23, 1998) shows versatility in the lead, sensual and beautiful Varma, who was 1996 KAMA SUTRA's biggest asset, is fine as well. Featuring a small delicate sex scene and a strong riot-opening, as well as a suspenseful showdown on the airport.
