Writer-director Werner Herzog has signed with the Gersh Agency for representation. The German filmmaker, whose credits include such art house classics as Aguirre: The Wrath of God, The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser, Fitzcarraldo and Invincible, next will tackle the subject of Spanish explorer Cortez for a feature film. His most recent project, the critically lauded Grizzly Man, won the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film prize at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival as well as the 2005 New York and Los Angeles Film Critics prizes for best documentary. Herzog also received a 1999 Emmy nomination for the docu Little Dieter Needs to Fly, which he adapted into the upcoming feature film starring Christian Bale and Steve Zahn titled Rescue Dawn. »
