Calling it the "First Chinese-Made Hollywood Film," China's official People's Daily reported Saturday that Pavilion of Women, based on a novel by Pearl Buck (The Good Earth, Dragon Seed), will open worldwide on April 20. The film was produced by the American-Chinese writer and actress Luo Yan, who also co-stars in the film with Willem Dafoe. The film was simultaneously shot in English and Chinese and was jointly produced by Universal Pictures and China's Silver Dream Production.
