Weird but fun sequel
20 August 2000 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Obviously the best reason for playing this game is because it was made by Ron Gilbert, who created the first one. This was proobably the reason I like it so much. And because he also made the first one, i didn't expect the game to be bad. It wasn't. Guybrush Threepwood is back. It's years since the first Monkey Island took place, and he can't stop bragging about how he blew up the Ghost Pirate LeChuck from the first game. Well, people are getting sick of the story, aso Guybrush decides to find a treasure. but not just any treasure...the biggest...greatest treasure of all...........Big Whoop! But what Guybrush doesn't realize is that Lechuck has been resurrected and is trying to kill him. Guybrush soon finds out from his friend the Voodoo Lady that the only way to protect himself from Lechuck IS to find Big Whoop! This game is really funny, and i enjoyed seeing old characters. And you get to control Guybrush to go on three different islands. Scabb, Booty, and Phatt. It's the Ron Gilbert touch all over again. But enjoy it all you can, because this is the last Monkey Island game Ron Gilbert ever made.
