I am responding to what spider63 had to say about the female characters in "Charmed."
First of all, I cannot even imagine how anyone could call these ladies "sluts"--aside from the fact that "slut" is such a subjective and completely SEXIST term!
And what "irresponsible sexual escapades" are you talking about? I believe that I have seen every episode of the show, most more than once, and I think it is the exact opposite--in the first few seasons, MAYBE you could have said they were being "irresponsible" (by a pretty conservative person's standards), but the whole way you worded what you wrote (sexual escapades) makes it sound like every single episode each character was with ten different partners. That is DEFINITELY NOT the case.
And really, should it matter? *If* Phoebe, Piper, Paige--and we might as well include Pru--were real people, in the balance of things, would it really matter if they went out and enjoyed themselves sexually?
But the bottom line is that what you are saying is completely false. Don't you remember that they conjured up a "dream man" for Piper for her birthday because she was giving up on love? The only thing I can think of Piper ever doing that one might consider the least bit "wild" was with the fire fighter (was she under a spell for that? I can't remember the details). And how often does she leave Wyatt alone so she can "talk about men with her sisters"??
What you are saying is just crazy. It is a good show, and yes, they may portray Phoebe is a sex object sometimes, but she certainly does not ACT ON that sexuality. And when was the last time Paige even HAD a boyfriend? Richard? I'd like you to back up your claims, please. Or maybe you should just watch the show...with your eyes open.
