40 Days and 40 Nights

5 October 2011 10:14 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Once upon a time in the early 2000s, the tall and lean heartthrob Josh Hartnett had a relatively promising film career. He made a splash in the late 90s with the popular horror films Halloween H20 and The Faculty. He then continued into the 21st century with the military blockbusters Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down. He seemed to be destined for even more success but once he branched off into comedy, he kind of ran out of steam. One of the films that derailed him was 2002’s 40 Days and 40 Nights, a lackluster romantic comedy that proved that Hartnett has zero range as an actor. The film is now out on Blu-ray but seriously, why would you want to punish yourself by buying it?

New Release: 40 Days and 40 Nights Blu-ray

13 June 2011 12:28 PM, PDT | Disc Dish | See recent Disc Dish news »

Lionsgate will issue the not-bad romantic comedy 40 Days And 40 Nights starring Josh Hartnett (The Black Dahlia) and Shannyn Sossaman (The Rules of Attraction) on Blu-ray on Sept. 6 for the list price of $19.99.

Josh Hartnett and Shannyn Sossaman enjoy one day in 40 Days And 40 Nights.

The release marks the 2002 film’s Blu-ray debut in the U.S. It’s been previously released on Blu-ray on the Ais label in Canada and is still available on Amazon.

Hartnett stars as studly young man Matt Sullivan, who challenges himself – and his libido – to go without sex for 40 days and nights for Lent. The plan proceeds according to his schedule until he meets Erica (Sossamon). His friends think he’s gonna crack and even Erica is unsure if he can do it, but Josh continues to hang in there.

Directed by Michael Lehmann, the movie also stars Vinessa Shaw (Stag Night) and Monet Mazur »
