The Hole is a 2001 British American horror thriller based on the novel "After the Hole" by Guy Burt. The film is about popular teenage girl Frankie (Keira Knigthley) and her rebellious friends: arrogant Mike (Desmond Harrington), his best friend Geoff (Laurence Fox) and crazy Liz (Thora Birch) whom skips a school field trip and decide to spend 3 days in an abandoned underground nuclear fallout shelter, which they get locked in by another student Martyn (Daniel Brocklebank). But, when Martyn doesn't unlock the door and unable to escape, the four students begin losing their sanity and all hell breaks loose. But, soon later Liz escapes and is interviewed by psychiatrist Dr. Phillipa Horwood (Embeth Davidtz) about what happened and Dr. Horwood begins suspect that there was a sinister plot behind the four of them being trapped in the underground nuclear fallout bunker and that Martyn or Liz may had masterminded it.
