Concert is good and George is funny
18 November 2002 | by (Järvenpää, Finland) – See all my reviews

It was year 1995. George Thorogood and The Destroyes had just played in my home town in a local blues festival and I wasn't there to watch it mostly because I had never even heard about them. However, somehow I got afterwards interested about the band and bought one of their albums and as it happened, I was immediately a fan. When I started purchasing more of The Destroyers cd's I was extremely p***ed about the fact that they had just performed only about a mile away from my home. Luckily I years later got see them live in AC/DC's concert as a special guest so there's a happy ending. I just found an excellent DVD copy of "George Thorogood and The Destroyers: Live in '99" and I have to say that if you like their music this definitely will not be a disappointment. All the greatest hits are included: "Bad to the bone", "Get a haircut", "You talk too much", "One bourbon, one scotch, one beer"...you name it. Only one of my favorite songs, "If you don't start drinking (I'm gonna leave)" is missing. Otherwise this is a rather good concert and Georgie boy is very amusing especially when he instructs the audience not to drink and drive. 8/10
