Berlinale 2018 Review: Unsane, A Stellar Piece of Psycho Fiction

Depending on what your thoughts on Logan Lucky were, it was possible to worry that Steven Soderbergh had hit a bit of a bump in the road last year, but fortunately the director of prized titles like Ocean's Eleven, Magic Mike and Erin Brockovich returns in fine form with 68th Berlinale Main Competition entry Unsane. Starring The Crown's excellent Claire Foy as the most unusually named Sawyer Valentini, Unsane proves to be an utterly fascinating exploration of sanity that well and truly gets you asking questions. Also shot entirely on an iPhone, the restlessly creative Soderbergh definitely manages to push the boat out cinematically too. But whatever you do, do not let this movie's underbaked marketing efforts to dress this film up as an easy-selling...

Deadpool 2 Trailer Unleashes Josh Brolin as Cable

Smart Ass meet Bad Ass. Deadpool gets the premium Cable package in the ultra-exciting, action soaked new trailer for Deadpool 2. A movie that is apparently being called Untitled Deadpool Sequel as a joke, unless Ryan Reynolds and team are really waiting until this summer to announce the official title. Because surprises and waiting to the last minute are always fun.

The Untitled Deadpool Sequel, as Fox is officially calling it as of this minute, is still set to be released on May 18, 2018. Since the last time we did this dance, the studio has not updated the official synopsis. Though we can see some of what's going on in this footage, we get a goofy plot summary, that, if laid out and rearragended, actually does tell us what the movie is about.

"After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of

The First Solo: A Star Wars Story Teaser Has Arrived

  • Cinelinx
Last night, we got our first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story, during the Super Bowl.  While that was a series of shots, the teaser that aired this morning on Good Morning America gave us a little more insight into the exploits of the galaxy's favorite scoundrel!  Take a look!

I love the CGI they've incorporated, I love the way the characters look, and I love how fresh and new the Millenium Falcon is, but what I love the most is that this teaser feels like a heist movie in the Star Wars Universe.  Granted, we thought that's what Rogue One would be, based on the feel of the trailers, but that ended up being more about espionage and less about smuggling.  Solo: A Star Wars Story has the potential to be a lot more fun than the one about stealing the Death Star plans.

Even the posters have

Channing Tatum's Gambit Movie Loses Director Gore Verbinski

Channing Tatum's Gambit Movie Loses Director Gore Verbinski
The long-gestating Gambit movie has just hit another huge snag. Director Gore Verbinski, best known for his work on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, has exited the project. Not much is known about the details of his departure at this time, but "scheduling issues" were cited and it's said to be amicable. Even if that's true, and considering how close this movie is to production, this represents a major problem for Fox, while nobody has said this is happening yet, it's possible the movie could be delayed, depending on how this all shakes out.

Channing Tatum, who has been attached to star in Gambit for several years and has been producing it as a passion project, is still on board. Now it's just a matter of finding a new director. The fact that this is the third director to exit the X-Men spin-off is a bit troubling at this point.

Fans Petition to Remove Matt Damon from Ocean's 8

Fans Petition to Remove Matt Damon from Ocean's 8
Fans are calling to remove Matt Damon from Ocean's 8. With the first trailer recently released, there's a lot of excitement surrounding the female-led Ocean's movie, which takes place in the same universe as Ocean's Eleven. Damon is set to reprise his role from the Ocean's movies, in order to provide a bit of connective tissue. However, given some recent comments he made about sexual harassment in Hollywood, a petition has been started online calling for the producers to remove him from the movie. Here's how the beginning of the petition reads.

"The all-female reboot of Ocean's 8 was supposed to be an empowering film for women. The movie spotlight the talents of its tremendous female cast and showcase the savvy and prowess of its characters. But that was before allegations that Matt Damon, who has a well-publicized cameo in Oceans 8, not only ignored but enabled his friend Harvey Weinstein

Why 'Ocean's 8' Trailer Was the Capstone 2017 Needed

Why 'Ocean's 8' Trailer Was the Capstone 2017 Needed
Few things can make people stop talking about Star Wars: The Last Jedi long enough to watch a new trailer, but the much-anticipated Oceans 8 is one of them.Tuesday's first trailer for the all-female Ocean's Eleven spinoff has inspired a lot of response, so let's get right to them.

Ashley Lee: This Ocean's 8 trailer is a perfect way to close out 2017, which began with the Women's March and has been full of major female-centric milestones. It's also a very good early Christmas present, because it's definitely everything I've ever wanted in a trailer — Rihanna as a...

Watch: First 'Ocean's 8' Trailer Introduces the New Faces of the 'Ocean's 11' Franchise

  • Movies.com
We've seen three movies led by George Clooney's Danny Ocean. Now it's time for his sister, Debbie (Sandra Bullock), to take over in a female-focused spin-off of Ocean's Eleven and its male-dominated sequels. The first trailer for Ocean's 8 introduces us to the new pack of criminals, glamorously played by the likes of Cate Blanchett and Rihanna, who team up to pull off a heist during New York City's Met Gala.  This could be the start of a whole new series (there's room for a Ocean's 9 and Ocean's 10), or it may turn out to be just a fancy offshoot gimmick without good reason for being. That amazing cast, though, including Anne Hathaway as a wealthy socialite, couldn't possibly have been brought together for nothing...

The Ocean's 8 Trailer Seems to Confirm That George Clooney's Danny Ocean Is Dead

The cast for Ocean's 8 is chock-full of A-listers - Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and more - but there's one actor who is noticeably absent from the all-star lineup: George Clooney. Although the Suburbicon director originated the role of heist mastermind Danny Ocean in the initial trilogy - Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen - it appears that the character has been killed off in the new spinoff judging from one particular scene in its thrilling trailer. The film follows Danny's sister, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), as she devises a plan to pull off a jewelry heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala after being released from prison. With the help of her eclectic all-female crew, Debbie schemes to rob one celebrity (Hathaway) of her jaw-dropping $100-million necklace at some point throughout the event. Squeezed between clips of

The Heist is On in the First Trailer for Ocean's 8

  • Cinelinx
The all female-led Ocean's movie finally has its first trailer and it looks like we're in for one heck of a heist movie!

What made Ocean's Eleven the memorable movie it was had to with the awesome ensemble cast they had, along with the twists and turns few saw coming.  The new reboot, featuring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter, looks like it'll have that same type of fun chemistry and twists that the prequels had, just with 3 less people.

While Ocean's 8 looks fun, the trailer is a bit of a head-scratcher.  For instance, the team of thieves is 7, not 8 and they're stealing from Anne Hathaway?  Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock is playing Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney's character Danny Ocean, and there is a distinct point where she is sitting in front of his grave plaque with

The Full Trailer For Ocean's 8 Has Been Released and it Looks Like a Ton of Fun!

After watching this first full trailer for director Gary Ross and producer Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's 8... I'm in! The movie looks like it's going to be a blast. I'm a sucker for heist films and I'm a huge fan of the original Ocean's 11 trilogy that Soderbergh directed. This new film, which is set in the same universe, looks like it will be just as fun.

The story follows Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), the sister of Danny, as she attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. To be able to pull this off she assembles the perfect crew, which consists of Lou (Cate Blanchett); Nine Ball (Rihanna); Amita (Mindy Kaling); Constance (Awkwafina); Rose (Helena Bonham Carter); and Tammy (Sarah Paulson). Their target is Daphne Kluger, who is played by Anne Hathaway.

Matt Damon will have a cameo as

"This is mommy's very special work trip." Warner Bros has unveiled the first official trailer for the heist comedy Ocean's 8, the all-women follow-up to the Ocean's 11 series. The fantastic ensemble of women who pull off a heist in New York includes: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, and Awkwafina. There's many other potential cameos in this, as the heist takes place during the fancy Met Gala. Honestly, this looks fun and it might be the perfect continuation of the Ocean's series. Ocean's 8 Trailer Arrives, Planning a Met Gala Heist
The first Ocean's 8 trailer has arrived with a heist plan to steal from The Met Gala. The tide has turned and it's a whole new "Ocean's" when a group of 8 plan and execute the heist in New York.

Hollywood has been rebooting classic movies with a female twist and, even though everyone on board isn't calling this a reboot, Warner Bros. is driving the heist series with a stacked, all-female cast. Now, after releasing a brief teaser yesterday, the studio has released the first full trailer for the movie. Can it live up to the quality of Ocean's Eleven? The talent is certainly there and that's a great place to start. As for the footage? That's for you to watch and decide for yourself.

'Ocean's 8' Trailer: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and More Upend the Met Gala

In the preview for the Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow film, viewers meet Sandra Bullock's Debbie Ocean, who starts off the film pleading her case to a parole board, saying that if she's released, she just wants "the simple life."

But that's not what she has in mind, as she soon puts together a team of criminals, recruiting Cate Blanchett's Lou, Mindy Kaling's Amita, Rihanna's Nine Ball, Awkwafina's Constance, Helena Bonham Carter's Rose and Sarah Paulson's Tammy.

As Ocean explains, the plan is to steal a...

Why Is Channing Tatum's Gambit Budget So Insanely High?

It looks like Gambit is going to be a potentially very expensive movie. Despite some uncertainty, now that Disney is officially purchasing most of 21st Century Fox, it looks like Channing Tatum's long-gestating X-Men spin-off is still going into production this March and won't be tabled as a result of the Disney merger. One of the last superhero movies being made before Fox folds into the Mouse House is possibly going to be one of the more expensive ones the studio has made, if some newly revealed budget details are to be believed.

According to a new report, it looks like Gambit may cost $155 million to make. The shoot is said to last for 10 weeks in New Orleans and will start this March. $155 million is incredibly expensive, especially for a character that hasn't yet proved to have appeal for wider audiences. Though, Gambit has been a fan-favorite character to

Ocean's Eight Poster Lines Up an Epic Cast of Thieves

Ocean's Eight Poster Lines Up an Epic Cast of Thieves
The first poster for Ocean's Eight is here. It's hard to think of a better heist movie than Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's Eleven, which spawned two sequels and made a boatload of money at the box office. Warner Bros. is looking to keep the franchise going with the female-driven Ocean's Eight. Now, the studio has unveiled the first poster for the movie, which leans into the stacked, all-female cast, led by Sandra Bullock.

While we haven't seen any footage from Ocean's Eight just yet, this poster offers a rather reassuring first look. The poster is very sleek and features a whole lot of red. Sprinkled in with that red is the eight, core female stars of the movie, who are led by Sandra Bullock, who serves as the connective tissue to the other Ocean's movies, as the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney). In a recent interview with EW, Bullock
