This program, hosted by Dame Vera Lynn, is a wonderful time capsule of the War Years as seen from the British point of view. The songs that it contains evoke the mood of the times and the spirit of the people in a way that makes one feels as one has lived through the era oneself. The songs include all of the majors such as `White Cliffs of Dover', `You Must Remember This', `Berkeley Square' and `Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree' to such lesser known works as `The Londoner and the Hun' and my new personal favorite `Umbrella Man'
