Japanese Company Makes Samurai Armor for Cats and Dogs

I understand that this is primarily a movie, TV, and entertainment site so the idea of pets being on here doesn’t 100% jive with the rest of our material. However, if you don’t think that eventually we’ll be seeing some kind of movie involving ninja cats or dogs then you obviously don’t go on the internet very often. And to get things rolling, a Japanese company has decided to outfit cats and dogs with none other than Samurai armor. Samurai Age offers standardized armor sized for cats and small dogs, but they also make custom designs that accommodate your little

Watch: These Dogs and Cats Found Your Fidget Spinner (And You Might Not Get It Back)
Kids can’t get their paws on these things fast enough — and now neither can pets!

Cats and dogs everywhere have gone all in on the craze that has stores across the country selling out of the spinning toys.

Most felines are fidgeting just as you might expect, with a curiosity that’s usually reserved for string or catnip. With the exception of one kitty below, who found the spinner to be the precursor to a nap.

Dogs have also found a friend in the fidget — with one pup watching the thing spin on his nose (clearly, he knows its calming power).

Roger Moore, the handsome English actor who appeared in seven films as James Bond — the most of any Bond actor — and as Simon Templar on “The Saint” TV series, has died in Switzerland after a short battle with cancer. He was 89.

His family issued an announcement on Twitter: “It is with the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated.”

Shark Tank Company Profile: Apollo Peak is a Wine Brand for Cats and Dogs

If there’s one thing that Shark Tank has proven, it’s that you’ll never be able to tell if a product is going to get invested in or completely made fun of. When I first took a look at Apollo Peak my initial impression is that this idea is going to get thrown out the window. But after taking a closer look at what Brandon Zavala is doing, I’ve downgraded my recommendation to “I have no idea what’s going to happen.” So what is Apollo Peak? According to sources on the show: Zavala started the business in 2015 with the goal

‘Dr Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet’ Rescues 4 Puppies From Being Shot (Exclusive Video)

These four puppies were going to get shot — yes, shot — until National Mill Dog Rescue and Dr. Jeff Young stepped in. The do-gooders team up to save the doggies on tomorrow night’s episode of Animal Planet’s “Dr Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet” — but TheWrap has got your exclusive first look at the canine rescue mission. Upon examination, these particular puppy mill pooches were in surprisingly-good shape. Once spayed and/or neutered, they should be adopted pretty quickly. And that’s a fate far-better than being Old Yeller’d out back. Also Read: Cats and Dogs: Puppy Bowl Rolls

Ratings: 400th ‘Law & Order: Svu’ Episode Seizes Best Numbers Since September
NBC captured some solid Nielsen numbers with its 400th episode of “Law & Order: Svu” last night — but that doesn’t mean it won the night. In a tie with Fox, Bob Greenblatt’s broadcast network finished runner-up to ABC in the key 18-49 demographic. NBC was second to CBS among overall audience. ABC actually finished fourth in eyeballs, falling behind Fox by an average of just 3,000 total viewers across primetime. It’s important to remember that ABC, CBS and NBC nationally program three hours per weeknight, while Fox and CW just do two. Also Read: Cats and Dogs: Puppy Bowl Rolls Over Kitten.

Cats and Dogs, Living Together: DC Fans Launch Petition For Zack Snyder to Direct ‘The Batman’
I like Zack Snyder. That needs to be said first. His Dawn of the Dead remake is a superbly constructed, savvy joy. 300 is so much more interesting and beautiful than you remember. Watchmen is flawed but audacious, tackling un-adabtable source material with raw nerve and bravery. Sucker Punch is a disaster, but it’s the kind […]

The Weekend Warrior 1/27/17: Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, A Dog’s Purpose, Gold

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.

This Past Weekend:

As per my Thursday update, M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller Split ended up winning the weekend but with way more than anyone, including myself, predicted, with more than $40 million for its opening weekend. That’s pretty impressive, and his first movie to open at that level since 2010’s The Last Airbender. Meanwhile, Vin Diesel’s sequel xXx: The Return of Xander Cage ended up making around where I predicted, taking second place with $20.1 million, not a great sign for the continuation of that franchise. Michael Keaton’s The Founder ended up right around where I predicted with $3.4 million, ending up just outside the Top 10. Hidden Figures, La La Land and Sing continued to do well with minimal drop-offs.

Divorcing Couple Asks Judge to Treat Dogs like Children, Judge Apparently Not a Dog Person

Recently, there’s been some controversy as to whether pets can be properly considered a human’s offspring. Conventional wisdom would have it that yes, that can be a thing, if not in the letter of the law, than in the spirit.

That’s a good thing, too, because the law apparently isn’t sold on the idea.

A divorcing couple in Canada recently asked Justice Richard Danyliuk of the Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan to consider their three dogs — 13-year-old Quill, 9-year-old Kenya and 2-year-old Willow — as children for the purpose of establishing visitation rights. (The wife was petitioning for sole custody.

The Weekend Warrior 12/2/16: Incarnate, Jackie, Old Stone

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.

This Past Weekend:

It wasn’t a bad Thanksgiving weekend, especially for the Weekend Warrior who pretty much nailed two of his predictions for the weekend! Disney Animation’s Moana indeed at opened at #1 with $55.5 million for the three-day weekend (exactly my prediction), although it ended up with more--$81.1 million--in its first five days. The Brad Pitt-Marion Cotillard spy thriller, Allied (Paramount), directed by Robert Zemeckis, also opened with $18 million, right on track with my prediction. I guess I could take some comfort on being spot on with two of the Thanksgiving releases—like I said last week, that holiday weekend is a bear to predict—but I way overestimated the other two movies as sequelitis indeed hit Billy Bob Thornton

Is This Why the Original Ghostbusters Don't Exist in the Reboot?
A new TV spot for the Ghostbusters reboot debuted last week that had certain corners of the fan community raising their eyebrow. And it's very strange that it is included in the marketing materials at all. But it's been cause for alarm for some people. And it's calling into question various aspects of this franchise restarter from director Paul Feig and Sony Pictures. The footage has Melissa McCarthy's Abby Yates cracking wise to Toby Huss' Officer Stevenson about the 1990 movie Ghost. Now, some fans are clinging to a new theory that this may prove the original Ghostbusters still exist in this rebooted world, and that it all ties into a phenomenon known as 'The Mandela Effect'.

'The Mandela Effect' is a very real thing, in so much as certain individuals truly believe that the conspiracy exists. And yes, it's what some might consider a wackadoo conspiracy theory. Whether

‘The Secret Life of Pets’ Review Roundup: Critics (Mostly) Go Wild for Animal Romp
Pets! What do they do all day? Universal’s animation arm, Illumination Entertainment, has bravely tackled this exact question with its newest offering, “The Secret Life of Pets.” Directed by Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney, the film features an all-star cast of very funny voice talent, from Louis C.K. to Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate to Hannibal Burress, Lake Bell to Ellie Kemper and many, many more to tell the story of some house pets who go decidedly off the leash on a frisky adventure that pits them against a wily pack of unhappy animals. Here’s hoping for a happy ending.
