Being a fan of The Amazing Race, I'm quite happy to hear that Phil Keoghan finally got an Emmy nomination. Never mind that he's always gone up the stage to receive those Emmys for his show, which has forever swiped the Best Reality Competition Series award since it was born. Consider that, when the Best Reality Host category was introduced, he wasn't there, which was a surprise.
Well, perhaps you can also argue that Survivor's Jeff Probst needed the honor, too, having arguably been the face to the genre's revolution. And, at least, Phil now has that nomination, too.

It's a good day for funny people, especially if your name is Tina Fey or Seth MacFarlane.
Fey's series, 30 Rock, was handed 22 Emmy nominations this morning, which stands as a record for a comedy series. She and Alec Baldwin were also nominated for acting awards. Plus, for the first time some of the other actors on NBC's laffer were recognized. Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and Tracy Morgan all picked up supporting nominations.
MacFarlane's Family Guy was also nominated for best comedy series, the first time an animated show has cracked that category since The Flintstones in 1961. Two years ago MacFarlane decided to pull his show from contention in the animated series category to have it considered for best comedy.
Mad Men, the drama about the advertising world in the sixties, picked up 16 nominations in the drama categories, including a best actor nod for Jon Hamm. Hamm is also nominated as

A judge has denied Richard Hatch the ability to partake in a 10th anniversary edition of Survivor. The reality show's first season winner is currently under house arrest following his release from jail in May, which stemmed from a tax evasion charge for failing to report his winning's from the series. Hatch was seeking special permission from a federal judge in Rhode Island to leave the country and cut short (more)

On the off chance there are still some of you out there keeping up with all things Richard Hatch, here's the latest. It looks like the original Survivor winner won't be swinging his thing in Samoa now that a Rhode Island judge has denied Hatch's petition to participate in a 10th anniversary edition of the reality show. Hatch, who is currently finishing out the last three months of his tax evasion sentence in home confinement, was hoping to use another Survivor stint as a way to pay back the money that he should have simply given to the IRS from the get-go. Of course, if you're still reading this, you already knew...

· It's time to accept that Channing Tatum is not your boyfriend, as the actor married Jenna Dewan this weekend in Malibu.
· Richard Hatch was hoping to go on Survivor for roughly the billionth time, but a judge shot down his request. You're not out of the woods until someone arrests Jonny Fairplay, Probst.
· Maura Tierney is clearing the air about her absence from Parenthood: She's discovered a tumor in her breast and is preparing for surgery.
· I know, sad. But hey, Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow making prank phone calls!

Survivor star Richard Hatch's dreams of a reality TV comeback have been shot down - a judge has refused to end his home confinement sentence so he can appear on the show in Samoa.
Hatch was crowned the winner of Survivor: Borneo in 2000, but he was indicted and sentenced to four years behind bars in 2005 for failing to pay tax on the $1 million (£666,670) plus he'd earned from the show and subsequent TV appearances.
He was released from a facility in Morgantown, West Virginia on 11 May for good behaviour and put on supervised release for 90 days.
Hatch asked to leave for Samoa next month for a series to mark the 10th anniversary edition of the reality show, arguing the money he earns could pay his tax obligations - but U.S. District Judge William Smith has turned down the request.
Hatch is currently serving out his sentence at his home in Newport, Rhode Island.

No you don't. Or at least that's what I think the judge wanted to say. But in essence, it seems all your wishes were granted: Richard Hatch won't be able to join the 20th season of Survivor.
A federal judge in Rhode Island denied the first Survivor winner's petition to leave home confinement early to be able to join the show's 20th season--one that marks its tenth anniversary--which will shoot in Samoa next month.

The Snake is looking to slither out of the slammer. Richard Hatch, the conniving winner of CBS' inaugural season of Survivor back in 2000, who nabbed himself a four year, three-month prison sentence in 2006 for failing to pay taxes on his $1 million winnings, is hoping another run on the reality show can reverse his misfortunes. The Rhode Island native is asking a federal appeals court to let him out to participate in a 10th anniversary edition of Survivor in Samoa in order to help pay the $400,000 he still owes the IRS. No doubt they'll find the 48-year-old roaming naked on a beach somewhere. Hatch, who's spending the remaining three months of his term in home confinement in Newport, ...
