A great show in its time but now very tired.
16 March 2004 | by (Scotland) – See all my reviews

There is no doubting that 'A Question of Sport' was a classic in the Beaumont-Botham era. This was the era which I grew up watching and I used to love it, a great show with two great sportsmen at the captain's table. However now the show has gone downhill. The format is now very tired and the immature, childish antics of Ally McCoist and Frankie Dettori are just plainly annoying. There can be no doubting that this is Britain's longest-running and best loved sports quiz but like diamonds, it can't last forever so I would not be surprised if this were cancelled fairly soon to make way for a new format. A classic in its time but I think it's had it's day now.
