Trivia:
The city of Cairo was initially considered as a possible host to the fight. The August 1975 issue of Ring Magazine had a fictitious fight-poster of Ali-Frazier III on its cover, and the poster listed Nasser Stadium in Cairo as the place the fight was taking place. moreFAQ

Being a boxing fan my respect for both fighters in this was immense, I must say though that the one who seems maligned unfairly by the other is definitely Frazier. It seemed quite unbiased in it's delivery and I was left with the impression that Ali was a thoroughly racist against Frazier and this I thought was portrayed as it really was, even by the Ali's guys. It's only after the fight etc that Ali seems to try and back peddle a little and claims it was all to do with promoting the fight. I think that was a feeble afterthought brought on by guilt, lets not forget this was the 3rd fight and Ali had been consistently insulting as only a black man can be to another black man. Still I thought the documentary as it was was a thorough examination of the issues as well as the event itself. What a fight though, the sheer brutality shown on the screen must have been as nothing to actually being there, ring side, hearing the blows the sheer exhaustion of 120 degree heat and the total body on the line will of both fighters. A modern fight would have been stopped multiple times, these guys slugged it out for 14 rounds and the 15th was a fight in each corner to throw in the towel, I wish, just wish that Joe had got up and the towel came from Ali's corner but hey that's sport. I can just remember the fight when it was originally broadcast and this was a welcome update to some old memories. 8/10
