Mini-Me is the Dog
24 September 2007 | by (Valencia, Spain) – See all my reviews

It is easy to knock this short film because it is very cheesy. The songs are not great, but they are by the Mothersbaugh brothers who did most of the Rugrats music and of course they made up the core of the 1970s New Wave band Devo (remember Whip It?).

Even though Ronald McDonald reminds me of Michael Myers from Halloween, I enjoyed the film as much as a typical episode of the Rugrats. I bought five of the McDonald movies for my daughter when she was between three and five years old, and she enjoyed them a lot. I had never paid attention to the credits, but Verne Troyer who was Mini-Me on the Austin Powers movies also played the dog, Sundae. I recently watched this movie with my daughter who is now 12. I kept joking with her that the dog was a dwarf in a dog outfit, and then I checked on IMDb and found out it was Verne Troyer. I had thought it would be the guy from the Leprechaun movies. Anyhow, it was fun entertainment and these movies used to be sold at the McDonald restaurants when you bought a Happy Meal.
