A post-master named Dilip Kumar re-locates to work in Mutharamkunnu. Once there, he sets about to meet the local residents and finds out that they are obsessed with wrestling. He meets with a proud and retired wrestler, Kuttan Pillai, and subsequently gets smitten by his daughter, Amminikutty. When he finds out that she an ardent fan of Mammooty, he lets it known that he is the latter's close friend. He intercepts her fan-mail, and even corresponds with her. Eventually she finds out and so does the rest of the town including her enraged father. Dilip attempts to flee but is prevented and must agree to wrestle in order to win her hand. Not proficient with any form of wrestling - especially with a mountain of a man, Dara Singh, - will Dilip succeed in his quest? Written by rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)
This is really worth a watch for all malayalam movie comedy fans. This is the story set in a quintessential small-town Mutharam Kunnu.Replete with quirky characters(bailwan Nedu Mudi Venu,Chayakkada Jagathi etc..) this movie is really down to earth, has good clean comedy and stars a young and genuinely funny Mukesh.Mukesh was one of the few really funny guys around in the malayalam industry when he was unaffected and young.Plus there is lizy to drool over too.
There is Dhara Singh in a cameo towards the end of the movie and Jagadish is also present in the cast. The songs while not block busters are pretty hummable and adds to the quaint touch. This definitely is up there if you are looking for a nice clean nostalgic trip back to the small town movies that they used to make in the "good ol' days".
