Govardhan, a doctor by profession, is wrongly accused of bombing a train and is jailed by the British in Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He witnesses the sufferings of hundreds of Indian prisoners there.
It is another superb movie from Mohanlal, and Nedumudi Venu. It has a good story plot, songs, natural acting talent and excellent technical skill. The songs, especially 'Pramadavanam' have become all time favourites. It also shows the real broad minded views of Kerala Hindus, transcending religion. I am honored to be from a Christian and Hindu background and can understand the message the film tries to convey about broad mindedness, which is the guiding principle of Indian philosophy. We need more of such superb movies with substance. On a personal basis it an honor to a be a family friend of Mohanlal.
