When Warner Bros. announced that Batman Unlimited would be bringing a new series of animated 'movies' for fans, they promised it would be a way to play around in the Batman universe and offer new ideas for young kids to enjoy that would be a little different.  Our first details and look at Batman Unlimited: Mechs vs. Mutants (which comes to DVD on September 13th) is definitely something different.

Nickelodeon Unveils Four Live-Action Series, Animated Movie at Upfront

Nickelodeon unveiled four new live-action series at its upfront presentation in New York on Thursday, along with plans for its first original animated TV movie.

The Viacom cabler touted its plan to roll out more than 650 episodes of new and returning series this year. The performance of Nickelodeon and Viacom’s core cable channels have been under scrutiny amid the broader corporate turmoil at the parent company in recent months.

Two of Nickelodeon’s new series are tied to sports. “Jagger Eaton’s Mega Life” is a 20-episode documentary series that follows the 15-year-old skateboarder of the title as he skates around the world and meets his idols. The show will begin production this spring. Producers Guild Of America awards nominees announced

This year’s Producers Guild Of America awards nominations gave been announced. The annual PGA awards give a very good indication on the films that could go on to feature in the Best Picture category at the Academy Awards (film categories), which are announced later this month.

Nomnated in the film category is the superb Ex Machina, George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, Ridley Scott’s The Martian, Adam Mackay’s The Big Short, Steven Spielberg’s Bridge Of Spies, Saorise Ronan starrer Brooklyn, the critically acclaimed The Revenant, Emily Blunt drugs-cartel movie Sicario, the drama Spotlight and the superb music biopic Straight Outta Compton. Anomalisa, The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, Minions and The Peanuts Movie feature in the animation category.

The Producers Guild also recognises TV, both fact and fiction and winners will be announced on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The Producer’s Guild of America has announced that The Big Short, Bridge Of Spies, Brooklyn, Ex Machina, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Martian, The Revenant, Sicario, Spotlight and Straight Outta Compton will contest the 2015 Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures at the 2016 PGA Awards.

Traditionally, the majority of PGA Award nominees will also find themselves nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, given that they share many of the same voters. Which probably means bad luck for the likes of Carol and Room.

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today the motion picture, long-form television, digital series, sports programs and additional television nominations for the 27th Annual Producers Guild Awards.

The categories include: The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures; The Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures; The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television; Outstanding Sports Program; and Outstanding Digital Series.
