This was the best thing I have ever seen in my life. It was so good that I still remember the day I saw it. I saw it onAugust 17, 1991 on CBS. It was about a b-movie actor named Brent McCord [well played by Robert Goulet] applies for the job of sheriff when a small Northern California town needs one. He's only an actor so he has lack of knowledge about the law which puts him at odds with the district attorney. His lack of knowledge and inexperience lets a prisoner escape. A loyal deputy helps catch the prisoner and cover for McCord. This was the pilot for an unsold television series which I think would have been the best show on television. Unfortunatley, it never aired again.
