1st watched 11/4/2001 - 4 out of 10(Dir-Dave Flitton): Unspectacular documentary of the 50's with constant newsreel footage with the popular music of the day placed in the background. The information on the scene being watched is either announced by someone acting as a news correspondent(when the music is not playing) or ran across the bottom of the screen in a banner format(sometimes this was hard to read as it mixed with the black&white pictures). Minor events were mixed with major ones with one very unsettling mixture of the song Love Me Do by Elvis Presley with photos of hydrogen bomb testing. All in all about sixty minutes of difficult viewing in this attempt to give us a slice of this decade.
