Tim Key Q&A as it happened

12 August 2014 6:31 AM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

Enigmatically droll comedian Tim Key is in Edinburgh with his show Single White Slut, and hes answered your questions from what it was like being trussed in tinfoil for the Alan Partridge movie to considering wrestling with Shaun Murphy on a snooker table onstage in Sheffield

2.31pm BST

And with that, Tim heads off into the Fringe. His show Single White Slut is at the Grand until Monday 25 August thanks to him and to everyone who asked questions.

2.19pm BST

Gingification asks:

If I could only watch one show at the fringe this year with slut in the title, which show should it be?

One with that in the title would be Single White Slut. 9.40 at The Grand. One without would be Monsieur Butterfly, by Alex Horne. I watched it last night and it blew my mind. He's at 8.10, so we don't clash.

Jimmy Fallon Singing 'Fancy' With Crosby, Stills & Nash and the Origin of Jack Bauer's 'Damn It' Catchphrase Lead Our Late Night Roundup (Video)

8 July 2014 12:38 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Didn't stay up for Monday night's late night talk shows? Moviefone's got you covered. Here's some of what you might have missed:

"The Tonight Show" was back from a one-week hiatus for the Fourth of July holiday, and host Jimmy Fallon pulled out one of his oldest -- and best -- recurring gags in celebration. Dressed up and singing as Canadian rocker Neil Young, Fallon was backed by none other than Young's former bandmates, Crosby, Stills & Nash, who applied their signature tight harmony sound to Iggy Azalea's "Fancy." Fallon/Young does a fine job reinterpreting the tune on his own, but things really take off around the halfway mark when Csn join in. Just try not to crack a smile.

Also on "Tonight," Kiefer Sutherland discussed the enduring success of "24" -- including its newest iteration, "24: Live Another Day" -- as well as the origins of Jack Bauer's favorite catchphrase, »

The Essential Heart: Ranking Their Top 20 Songs

19 June 2014 9:33 AM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Ann Wilson is one of the greatest vocalists (male or female) in the history of rock music, and she and sister Nancy tore down barriers and shattered expectations with their group Heart.

Since their 1976 debut Dreamboat Annie and it’s classic Top Ten single “Magic Man,” they defied the rules about women in rock, and became an inspiration for a generation of female musicians.

Today is Ann’s 64th birthday, so let’s pay tribute by counting down Heart’s 20 greatest songs (including a couple of Ann’s solo releases).

Note – Compiling this list, I was shocked by how few songs from Heart’s “Bustier Era” (1985 – 1990) I decided to include. There are only three (and only one in the Top Ten). And their first #1 song “These Dreams?” It didn’t even come close.

20. City’S Burning

Year: 1982

Album: Private Audition

Chart Peak: N/A

The early 80′s were rough for the group, »

The Essential Boy George: Ranking His Top Ten Songs

13 June 2014 7:42 AM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Boy George has been a part of our lives for well over thirty years, and was one of the first great stars of the MTV generation. As quickly as his star rose, though, it fell to earth, thanks to years of substance abuse.

Now clean and sober, he’s never been to scale those early heights again, but he’ll always be our Boy George, a reminder of the fun of early 80′s pop music, and we’ll always have that voice … soulful, vulnerable, and warm.

This weekend is his 53rd birthday, so let’s take a look back and name our favorite George hits, both solo and with Culture Club. These ten songs are a good way to start your Essential Boy George Collection.

Top Ten Tuesday – Top 10 Guilty Pleasure Movies

10 June 2014 6:12 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

I have a curious habit, maybe you have it too, if you are a real movie geek, film fan, cinema addict, what have you.

A certain number of movies that I have seen and loved with all my heart were losers at the box office or were mercilessly slammed by critics, usually both. This doesn’t happen all the time, mind you. I know a bad movie when I see one. But several times I have seen a movie on opening day and loved it so much I was sure it would be a big hit and be loved by critics and film goers, nope, not all the time.

Here then is my own personal and highly eccentric top ten list, with some honorable mentions, of movies that lost out, yet I love them still, many of them desperately, hysterically, madly do I love these films, well anyway… let me tell you about it. »

Kylie Minogue has been a star since her teen years on Australia’s Neighbours, but when she branched out into pop music, who knew that she would become a worldwide best-selling superstar?
