Mexican fantasy made a few years before the more classic period of Gothics produced there, Juan Bustillo Oro combines Faust, Don Juan, and Dorian Gray into an aging college psychology professor (Enrique Rambal) who has fallen in love with one of his students.(Rosario Granados), which prompts him to make a pact with the devil (who shows up in different guises) for his lost youth. The exteriors are very clearly sets, but shot in a way to add to the dreamy quality.
