Great silent film with special effects
3 September 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is a fun silent film. There is a lot of action and there are special effects, which would have been somewhat of an innovation for the year 1918.

Mary Thurman shows her skill in roller-skating and looks great in the skating costume. Mary Thurman gained this skill as a child, skating in her uncle's roller-rink in Richfield, Utah where she was born. She was well-known there for being quite a talented roller-skater.

Charlie Murray is as good as he gets in any movie. He is a favorite for a Mack Sennett film. It has been said that he enjoyed playing next to Mary Thurman.
