Jack Tremain is an architect whose project brings him back to LA after a long absence. Unhappy at being in a place full of bad memories, Jack is stunned to run into the woman who caused his unhappiness. As they have a drink and reminisce, Jack confronts Kate, and through a series of flashbacks, we learn their story. As Jack comes to terms with his anger at Kate for ending the relationship, Kate succumbs to her feelings and they share a romantic interlude. Through one last night together, Jack is able to find closure, but for Kate it only tears open old wounds.
William Petersen and Anne Archer are both perfection in this Showtime short directed by Richard Dreyfuss. The chemistry between the two actors makes for a deeply involving story.
