The primative technology works in the favour of this early classic Chinese film by bringing an almost documentary fell to a large portion of the story. Involving a famous teacher visiting one of his former pupils in a jail cell it simply uses to story as a way of examining society and particularly the responsobility of the individuals role in a progressive environment
