This was a beautiful walk through the lives of the fortune-telling women portrayed, and deals with the topic with an insight seldom seen on film. It's nice to see a film that explores psychic women at this grassroots level rather than in the over-the-top Hollywood fashion. Director and writer Donna Davies clearly understands her subjects and their impact on people's everyday lives. One has to wonder if she hasn't done a little reading of tea leaves herself. A real education, and an entertaining, sometimes humorous, and always fascinating film, to boot. I'll be looking for more of her films.
