Storyline

Gorion's ward, the protagonist of the first Baldur's Gate game, is captured along with his/her party (that consists by default of thief/mage and ward's best friend Imoen, half-elf fighter and druid Jaheira and her beloved husband Khalid, who were friends with the late Gorion, amusing heroic not-completely-sane fighter Minsc and his imaginary deadly pet hamster Boo and Minsc's beloved mage wife Dynaheir) by Jon Irenicus, an incredibly powerful amoral sadistic wizard hellbent on revenge of initially undisclosed nature. He needs the ward for his diabolical experiment that'll give him the power he needs to enact his revenge. He's also highly interested in Imoen's powers for some reason. However, his plans are interrupted when a group of thieves from the powerful local thieves' guild breaks into his lair. A bloody and highly destructive fight ensues between them and Irenicus and his creatures. When the fighting breaks out into the streets, the Cowled Wizards, an influential secretive group...

An amazing game, adventure, story and work of art. An absolute MUST!

Wow. Where to begin. I have already completed the whole thing twice through and started on a third time. So heres a review for you. I first heard of this game through a friend. Used to the Diablo and other Blizzard games, i was intrigued by the interesting layout of the game. After starting a game there - i grew to love it and before long bought it for myself. The game has so many great features its not surprising that it won best RPG of 2000!

development that have their own personality that you can interact fully with.
  • Hundreds of individual townspeople and merchants to talk and trade
