Another Melies trick film
4 May 2017 | by (Indiana) – See all my reviews

This trick film by the french filmmaker Georges Melies is pretty typical, considering the filmmaker made many of these films. The four-minute piece is about a prince who wants a beautiful girl to wed. He seeks the aid of an wizard, Alcofribas, who conjures up several women but makes them all disappear. Then Alcofribas disappears, leaving the prince surrounded by specters. Good film, but it doesn't stand out from the directer's other magic films. However, the sets are quite good, and well painted too. Decent Melies.
