Quotes

Gwynne Dyer: Young man are not natural soldiers any more than they're natural carpenters or accountants, but it's a trade that almost anybody can learn. Soldiering takes up a much bigger part of your life than most jobs, but it doesn't take a special kind of person. Anybody's son will do.

very shocking
29 June 2006 | by See all my reviews

I watched this film in a social psychology class about intense indoctrination. This film captures the brainwashing process in military very well. The scenario used in this film is the US marine, although it did mention that it is the same all over the world. The stress that created during the military drill is shocking, and some people do find it too harsh to watch. Actually, the film has already been cut and the curse scenes are all gone. This film makes you understand not only how military changes a person but also the various cults that have been so influential on some people. I highly recommend this movie to those who like to think about human power, social influence, war, etc...
