The Male Swagger: Eres Puto a mi Perro y Chenga tu madre!
SmaPdE22 June 2000
Personally, I was offended that you left out the former Wulfgar, he really captured the emotion and intensity required. Secondly, I am surprised that Mr. Safavi did not push to enter his movie into any festivals(theatres would have devoured all the Cultural Cynicism). Despite obvious communist undertones, the movie demands a change in the way we regard racial and sexual discrimination in America and indeed, the rest of the world.

Best film ever made

Darius Safavi directs this gem which is a takeoff of the common Norse legend Beowulf. It is really, really funny. The film begins with the cast crying over an old version which was screwed up during editing. The plot then advances to god knows where, but it sure as hell is the funniest thing i have seen in my life. Colin Court as Sir Lardalot gives an absolutely amazing performance, mixing innocence with greediness and glutton. Mike Vick is also good as the lead Beowulf, he carries off his heroic persona with style. The directing in this film is great, novice Darius Safavi belongs with a camera. Unfortunately, it is not available on VHS yet, but should be within a year. The producers may release it straight from their company. Get your hands on this baby, it's hot.

Wow, just wow. A must see.

Possibly one of the greatest works of art I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. In a business where consistent large amounts of what I consider mainstream movies worth no more than human manuer, The Male Swagger was a refreshing look into the stereotypes of society's interlocking anti-transcendentalist yet existential mainstream capitalist themes. After seeing this film I was a new man. I highly suggest this to all, it is the Cistene Chapel of Film.

Much like the more mainstream Fight Club, The Male Swagger delites the audience with unusual scenery and explosive characters. Ben Mercer give what I believe to be an Oscar deserving performance as Hollywood Hulk Hogan in his struggle with ripping shirts.

This all around fantastic and thrilling masterpiece shouldn't be missed by anyone. Like a pushing pusher robot at the top of the stairs, I urge you, grandma, to SEE THIS MOVIE A.S.A.P.

A cult classic

This is the best movie i've ever seen. I thought it was amazing!! A truly perfect film. Lardalot was amazing, and malcolm X was so...black!!! I believe it was a great all around movie. It has inspired so many people to this day i am surprised when i hear of someone who has not heard of it. It was so sad when chef fuwa hurt that poor hippy dude. It was so emotional when grendal was finally killed. I cryed as Beowulf's inner ethical side changed to support womans rights. Great movie I would recommend it to every one above the age of 1. I managed to get a quick viewing at the film festival and I only hope I can find a copy of it in a store somewhere.

Pure brilliance - Darius Safavi is a genius!

The history of film can be broken down into two categories: a time before and after the Male Swagger. In April of 1999, director Darius Safavi mixed memory and desire into one tangible work of beauty (not without the help of writer Colin Court). I will admit, it has been nearly five years since I last saw The Male Swagger, but from time to time, I hear the sound of Wulfgar's exclamation of, "These men look worthy of a warrior's esteem" which only rings truer in these troubling times. Although it's not widely known, many of the techniques in this movie (anime sequence combined with exploitation) predate those used in Kill Bill by several years, yet Mr. Safavi receives little of the credit. Still, it's comforting to know that in these troubling times, one can still look back on The Male Swagger and still see that many of it's messages still ring true after nearly a decade.
