Continuity 

In the final sequence, the make and year of police car changes twice. It starts out as a Caprice, becomes a '93-97 Ford Crown Victoria, then changes into a '98-01 model of the same car.

When Rhett is walking up to take the keys after Terry has passed out, Terry's hand is near the keys but not on them. In the next shot when Rhett takes the keys Terry's hand is over top of the keys.

When Ruby and her girlfriends are walking together at school, she is seen clearly holding her lunch. She is in he middle of the group. In the next scene as they round a corner, the girl, not Ruby, walking on the left side of the group is seen dropping Ruby's lunch in the trash.

When Ruby is stealing Terry's car she starts the motor in the garage. When they show the dash and gauges the oil pressure is at zero and the warning light is on. Again when she is driving the car and her brother is changing the radio station the dash is shown again and the oil pressure is still at zero.

When Rhett is walking over to steal the car keys from Terry the bottle of vodka is on the table and then disappears when he's taking the keys.

In the scene after Ruby runs Terry over with the police car, we see that the police car is a new 2000 model, with fewer than 500 miles on the odometer. After Ruby lets Rhett out of the backseat, the car changes and becomes a 1992-1997 model Crown Victoria.

After Ruby's joyride with her brother, Terry and Ruby start to fight in the house and she is pinned down on her stomach, but in the next shot she is facing up on her back looking up at Terry.

When Ruby walks into the house after going out to dinner with Terry, she crosses the kitchen into the room where Erin was injecting herself. When she passes through the kitchen, there are two very clear faces, most likely crew members, reflected in the glass.

Factual errors 

Ruby's iBook is not connected to a phone line. She could have been using a wireless network (AirPort), but there would be no dial tone (see above) even when the AirPort base station was dialing up.

Three of Ruby's high school friends complain that Ruby has not been returning their e-mails - this is after we see Ruby discovering her AOL account has been terminated. In this case, her friends' e-mails would have bounced back, possibly alerting them that something was amiss.

Revealing mistakes 

At the end of the movie, when the officer is checking on the vehicle that crashed, he talks to his dispatcher over his radio that is clipped to his shoulder. For part of his radio traffic to her, he isn't pressing on his mic to talk.
