Nice addition
7 May 2000 | by (Plymouth, MN, USA) – See all my reviews

This video was available in the deluxe edition of "Toy Story" and would have gone unseen by myself had the price not been reduced to only a few dollars over the feature price (or "Toy Story"), which I bought for my sister.

Along with the "Behind" and the video version of "Toy Story", came a picture book, a carrying box, and a lithograph/picture.

Anyway, "the story behind toy story" is a nice touch and it is nicely done. This is true, simply, because it is not trying to be anything.

This video basically sets out how and why the film was made. We see clips of other earlier pixar works, learn that the initial toys were not a cowboy and a spaceman, (but a drummer, from an earlier picture, and a rougher cowboy), and how Tom Hanks was "wowed" when Pixar lass-oed him for the part.

There is plenty of other stuff, so I am not spoiling anything for you. -->

The story adds to TS1 and TS2, but never detracts. You do not have to see this tape to understand the movies, but it will help you (mainly the adults out there) appreciate Toy Story(s) better.

Plus the kids may even like it.

All in all, a nice addition.
