Michael Gondry's examination of childhood love is replete with his trademark surreality. This not only is one of the best short films I've ever seen to date, but it's also one of the hidden treasures on the Director series DVD for Michel Gondry.
The use of black and white cinematography make the theme of the short that much more poignant. The actor who portrays the protagonist does a fantastic job in making you believe in him and not thinking he's this obsessed kid . .. because really, what 12 year old is really obsessed with love? It's so innocent, at least for him.
Sorry so short, but I can't really write anything without spoiling it, so just see it!
